The FRP round tube Ø34 is a hollow composite tube with a 34 mm outside diameter, used for trellises (passion fruit, gourds, cucumbers, bitter melon) and for small net-house and greenhouse frames. It does not rust, rot or attract termites, so it can be used for many seasons.
How does the Ø34 FRP tube compare with bamboo and steel pipe?
Bamboo pushed into the ground usually rots at the base after a few seasons. Steel pipe rusts where it meets the soil and where wires are tied, especially in fields that are fertilised and sprayed often. FRP tube does not rust or rot, so the trellis can be taken down after harvest and put up again next season. It is also light and does not conduct electricity.
What is the Ø34 tube used for?
- Cross bars and secondary posts for passion fruit, gourd, loofah and bitter melon trellises.
- Stakes for cucumbers, tomatoes and beans.
- A-frame and arched trellises for climbing vegetables.
- Frames for small net houses and greenhouses.
Trellises for heavy fruit need strong main posts at the corners and edges, so ask Santiago FRP to check the post spacing before building. Wall thickness decides how stiff a tube is, so when comparing Ø34 tubes ask for the wall thickness and weight per metre.
How do I order the Ø34 tube?
Santiago FRP cuts the tubes to the lengths you need. Tell us the crop, the trellis height and the area, and we will calculate the number of tubes and quote. Pipe types explained: what FRP composite is.
Frequently asked questions
What is the FRP tube Ø34 used for?
Cross bars and posts for passion fruit, gourd, loofah and bitter melon trellises; stakes for cucumbers, tomatoes and beans; A-frame and arched trellises; and frames for small net houses.
Does the FRP tube last longer than bamboo?
Yes. Bamboo in the ground usually rots at the base after a few seasons, while FRP tube does not rust, rot or attract termites and can be reused every season.
Can the Ø34 tube be cut to length?
Yes. Santiago FRP cuts the tubes to the lengths you need and calculates the quantity from the crop, trellis height and area.
