Spans are for plastic roof sheets or plastic roof tiles, purlins spaced at 660 mm, deflection limited to L/200. W0 is the basic wind pressure of the Vietnamese wind zones I – V; compare it with the design wind pressure of your site.

Where is SF-60 used?

SF-60 is the smallest Santiago FRP purlin. It suits verandas, small houses and seaside houses with rafters placed close together, about 1.2 – 1.5 m apart. If the rafters are 1.5 m apart and the wind pressure is 1.25 kPa or more, use SF-80 instead.

What to watch on steep tiled roofs?

The SF-60 box is only 30 mm wide, so it is weaker across the roof slope than the larger sizes. On tiled roofs steeper than 25° with rafters more than 1.2 m apart, add purlin ties (sag rods) or change to SF-80.

What is supplied with SF-60?

Santiago FRP cuts SF-60 to the rafter spacing, drills the holes at the rafters and supplies 304 stainless fittings sized for SF-60: L-brackets, bolts, nuts, washers, anti-crush sleeves, self-drilling screws and end caps. Each length is printed with SANTIAGO FRP, SF-60, the batch number and santiagofrp.vn. How to fit them: installing FRP purlins.

Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of SF-60?

SF-60 is an FRP box section 60 × 30 mm with a 3 mm wall, single cell, weighing 0.98 kg per metre.

What rafter spacing can SF-60 span?

With purlins at 660 mm under plastic roof sheets, SF-60 spans up to 1.9 m at a basic wind pressure of 0.65 kPa, 1.6 m at 0.95 kPa, 1.4 m at 1.25 kPa, 1.3 m at 1.55 kPa and 1.2 m at 1.85 kPa.

When should I choose SF-80 instead of SF-60?

When the rafter spacing is above the SF-60 limit for your wind pressure, for example 1.5 m rafters at 1.25 kPa, or on tiled roofs steeper than 25° with rafters over 1.2 m apart.
